Coral reefs are the rainforests of the sea.
Oceans are home to a wide variety of creatures, but they all have their home in coral reefs. Corals are the base of life under water. If there are no corals, there are no fish. But the reefs are in a bad way! Scientists assume that 90% of all coral reefs will have disappeared by 2050. Time to do something!
And that’s exactly what we did. We packed our gear, got on the boat and started restoring what has been lost over the years: marine ecosystems.

Livingseas Coral Restoration Project
Our reef off the coast of Padang Bai is now the second largest coral reef restoration project of its kind in Indonesia.
As of 07/2024, together with the Livingseas Coral Restoration Team and with the support of the Livingseas Foundation, we have planted over 100,000 coral fragments and thus renaturalised an area of around 3,000 m2 of coral reef with an immense diversity of species!

How does it work?
You will get a short introduction to planting corals before we go on the boat and do 2 dives.
On the first dive we will show you the restored reef of Livingseas in Baung Penyu, Padang Bai.
On the second dive you will plant corals on your own reef star and give them a second chance at life!

Visit us at our Livingseas Coral Restoration Site in Padang Bai and plant your own coral star on the boat!
Our team will install your Reef Star directly underwater and you will have the opportunity to join a guided snorkelling tour to marvel at the restored marine ecosystem!
