Where Diving Meets Conservation
Together with our local Coral Restoration Team, we restore damaged coral reefs around Padang Bai using the internationally recognised MARRS Reef Star method.
Our work is funded through grants, sponsorships and donations of the German registered non-profit association We Do OCEAN e.V. and focuses on long-term restoration, monitoring and reef maintenance.
As a guest, you don’t join the project team—you experience it.
Through our Impact Dives and Impact Snorkeling experiences, you’ll get exclusive behind-the-scenes insights and actively participate in selected restoration activities under the guidance of our team.

Impact Dive – For Experienced Divers
Make a Difference – Underwater
Our Impact Dives for advanced divers are much more than just a dive: they’re an active contribution to restoring marine ecosystems. Together, we plant corals, care for our reef structures and collect valuable data — directly on our thriving restoration sites.
Important: These dives take place at depths of 7–15 metres and require experience and independence underwater. You should:
Have completed at least 25 dives
Be confident with independent descents and ascents
Be able to manage your air consumption
Have good buoyancy control to work safely and precisely over the reef
Have experience with light to moderate currents

Impact Snorkeling
No diving certification? No problem – you can still make a real impact.
You don’t have to be a diver to actively support coral reef restoration. Our Impact Snorkeling experience allows you to take part in a real restoration project while exploring the beautiful reefs of Padang Bai from the surface.
During an in-depth briefing at our dive center, you’ll learn about coral reefs, the challenges they face, and how the MARRS reef star method helps restore damaged reef areas.
Afterwards, you’ll head out by a traditional boat with two experienced guides. While one guide dives to carefully collect healthy coral fragments, you’ll work together with the second guide on board to attach them to your own reef star.
Once your reef star is ready, our dive guide installs it on the restoration site beneath the boat. While snorkeling above the reef, you can watch the installation and see your personal contribution become part of a growing coral reef.
After returning to our dive center, we’ll enjoy a local lunch together, and you’ll receive your personal Certificate of Contribution as a reminder of your positive impact.

Impact Dive for Beginners
Your First Step into Marine Conservation – Guided, Safe and Unforgettable
This Impact Dive is designed for certified Open Water Divers who want to actively contribute to protecting our coral reefs – no extensive diving experience required. You don’t need to be an expert, just curious and passionate about the ocean.
Together with your personal guide, you’ll dive into our restoration site and be shown step by step how coral planting works. As a highlight, you’ll plant your very own reef star, which will become part of a growing reef under your name.
You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve underwater.
